Methods and Materials for Marching Band

Description

This course presents an overview of basic marching band techniques. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the following: the field commands necessary for marching and maneuvering; the color-guard techniques used in the contemporary marching arts; the ability to create, read, and teach field drills; essential pedagogy for teaching marching woodwinds, brass, and percussion; and the numerous administrative and leadership skills necessary to run a successful high school program in the marching arts.
