Contemporary Collaborative Piano with Vocalists

Description

This course is designed to help intermediate level pianists build general vocal accompaniment skills in varied contemporary styles such as jazz, pop, R&B, blues, and more. Students will develop an understanding of the essential needs of vocalists when partnered with a pianist while developing a diversity of musical support techniques at the piano that expand stylistic awareness and ensure stylistic integrity and in both traditionally notated and improvisatory idioms.
