Jazz Piano in Duo Performance

Description

This is an advanced performance class that addresses the use of the piano in a duo setting specifically without a bass player, in the image of, for example, the Maybeck Concord duo series, the Oscar Peterson duo series, Bill Evans with Jim Hall, Stan Getz with Kenny Barron, Gary Burton with Chick Corea, etc. The class will include instruction on accompaniment and solo piano styles, as well as coaching on arranging and rehearsal. There will be regular in-class performances.
