Description

In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of how to DJ using DJ controllers and Serato/rekordbox/Algroriddim Djay software. Through a hands-on approach, students will explore a wide range of techniques including beat matching, beat juggling, remixing, scratching, etc. Emphasis will be placed on the history of DJ'ing, their role in the origins of various genres, and navigating the modern DJ industry. The course will culminate in the form of student DJ performances (sets) throughout the semester. Hands-on exercises will be emphasized. This course is intended for students with little or no prior experience.
