Melodic and Harmonic Performance Studies for Grid Controllers

Description

Students in this course will explore techniques developed specifically for the MIDI Fighter 64 performance controller for melodic and harmonic performance that can be applied to a range of other grid controllers. Students will build on techniques from ILEL-215 Finger Drumming Techniques and develop the performance capabilities required to play scales, modes, and chord progressions. A variety of musical examples will be used to help students develop their performance repertoire as well as improvisational techniques using this controller.
