Rhythmic Foundations for Electronic Musicians

Description

Students in this course will learn to develop and perform rhythmic ideas based on the traditions of Africa, the Caribbean, and other global influences, using hand percussion and electronic instruments. Emphasis will be placed on playing rhythms in their original form and then adapting them to modern electronic styles, exploring the connections between the two.
