This course uses existing video game projects to provide context for implementing music and sound with the Wwise middleware tool. Students will learn the basics of working in Wwise as they become familiar with its graphical interface and underpinning technologies. The assignments build skills to better understand best practices when utilizing the audio and music functionality of Wwise. In a variety of game contexts, students will more fully recognize interactivity and creativity within Wwise with the goal of designing and implementing audio and music hooks into game environments. Additionally, students will explore the challenges of implementing basic adaptive music functionality in a game setting. No prior programming experience required. At the end of this course students will be prepared for the Wwise 101 certification exam.
