Description

In this course students will design drum kits for specific current electronic music genres. Students will apply critical listening skills to reverse engineer drum sounds used in specific genres and will develop kits that work well for that particular style of production or live performance. The course will focus on building and preparing drum kits by working on timbre of the original sound sources, effect processing, and developing real time performance capabilities of the kits. Students will leave the course with experience designing electronic drum kits that can be used in professional productions.
