Merengue and Bachata Ensemble

Description

The Merengue and Bachata Ensemble will study and perform the music of Afro influenced Cuban, American Latin, and Latin jazz. In this course, students participate in weekly supervised rehearsals. Students gain experience in discussion, research, and performance of specific styles. This course emphasizes stylistic integrity, musicality, individual interpretation, and melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic accuracy.
