Foundations of Live Electronic Performance Ensemble

Description
This is an entry-level ensemble designed for EDI players who are new to live electronic music performance. This course introduces students to essential concepts in performing electronic music as a group and incorporates techniques such as clip launching, live synth playing, sample triggering, finger drumming, and real-time effects processing. In a series of supervised rehearsals, students will work with repertoire curated by the instructor to gain experience in ensemble dynamics, critical listening, and sound design for live performance. This course emphasizes the accurate expression of musical ideas in the context of live electronic performances while also preparing students for more complex ensembles down the road.
