DJ and VJ Ensemble

Course Number
ENDS-662
Description

DJ and VJ Ensemble is a performance-based lab in which a small group of experienced students collaborate to design, rehearse, and deliver a fully realized audiovisual DJ/live set. Students admitted into the ensemble are expected to have prior experience with DJ techniques and a strong interest in visual performance. Throughout the semester, the group will work collectively on playlist curation, artistic direction, visual identity, transitions, and staging. Students will be encouraged to apply skills they are learning across the master’s program, such as production, sound design, Max/MSP, visual tools, DJing and performance techniques in a real live environment. The ensemble functions as a professional rehearsal setting guided by two instructors with active experience in DJing and audiovisual performance. The final outcome is a public AV performance in a public professional venue.
