Score and Part Preparation Proficiency

As part of the contemporary writing and production major requirements, students must complete and pass this proficiency in order to graduate. After writing and recording their piece for lead and background vocals, horns, and full rhythm section in the Advanced Ensemble Writing course, students will submit the full set of score and parts for further music preparation evaluation and continue to revise their work as needed. A grade of P (pass) and course completion are awarded when the project achieves a high level of proficiency in score and part preparation.
