DJ Techniques

CMSP-556

Students enrolled in DJ Techniques will develop advanced skills using the turntable, CDJs, MIDI controllers, and DJ mixers as a means of live expression and performance. Weekly practical and experiential exercises will be emphasized. This semester we will focus on industry standards including, but not limited to, Serato DVS, Pioneer RecordBox, CDJs, and Industry standard venue backline. We will explore troubleshooting common equipment malfunctions most often experienced in the field, equipment firmware updates, utilizing portable drives with multimedia players, and learn DJ booth set-up and breakdown.
