3D Design for Live Events

Course Number
CMAT-517
Description

Students enrolled in this course use a 3D design process focused on designing and pre-visualizing scenic elements, lighting elements, and camera shots accurately in 3D modeling software to aid in the telling of emotional stories. This highly technical and detail-oriented process is the standard for high end concert and theater productions and is critical for the success of large-scale events. In this course students learn 2D and 3D drafting, 3D modeling and rendering, accurate software rendering of real-world lighting conditions, accurate rendering of automated lighting, and software modeling of camera optics and exposure.
