Acting for Non-Majors

Course Number
ACT-101
Description

Acting can be exhilarating, cathartic, and also difficult to do. It is a discipline, as specific as singing, dancing, or even rocket science. It is a practice in teamwork, trust, vulnerability, and letting others in. Through a variety of exercises, improvisational games, ensemble work, and acting approaches, students will explore the essential elements of acting, creative expression, and collaboration in the theater. Ultimately, through in-class devised scene sharings, acting students will convey stories, ideas, emotions, and provocative questions that reflect or challenge humanity.
