Stevie Wonder was given the The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by President Barack Obama. The ceremony took place February 25 at the White House, and was attended by music educators from around the country, including Berklee's president Roger H. Brown President Obama called Wonder's music "the soundtrack of my youth," and said that he had found in it "peace and inspiration, especially in difficult times." The program also included performances by Tony Bennett, Wayne Brady, Diana Krall, Mary Mary, Martina McBride, India.Arie, Paul Simon, Berklee alumna Esperanza Spalding.
