Dione Tan, a Music Synthesis student at Berklee, has won the Mill Valley Philharmonic's Fanfare Contest for Berklee Women Composers. Her piece "Fanfare pour Les Femmes," written for full orchestra, will have it's world premiere in the Mill Valley Philharmonic's orchestral program of women composers in conjunction with International Women’s Day in mid-March. The concert, titled "Celebrating Women Composers," includes works by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Ruth Crawford Seeger, Amy Marcy Beach and Florence Price. We are excited to have Dione Tan participate in Mill Valley Philharmonic's 10th season.
