Acclaimed singer and saxophonist Grace Kelly '12 is set to present the East Coast premiere of her newest project, At the Movies: Grace Kelly with Strings, Saturday, April 29, at 8:00 p.m. at the Berklee Performance Center. Hosted by radio legend Ron Della Chiesa, the project features Kelly's enchanting vocals and exuberant saxophone playing with a 15-piece ensemble. Inspired by Charlie Parker with Strings, Kelly will take the audience on a journey of fresh and reimagined versions of her favorite movie music.

The program includes a Disney medley, music from Mission Impossible and Pirates of the Caribbean, and songs by legendary film composers such as John Williams and Ennio Morricone, as well as contemporary artists such as Billie Eilish.

Kelly is a singer, saxophonist, songwriter, composer, and bandleader with a résumé that includes 14 acclaimed albums, performances at the Hollywood Bowl, Apollo Theater, and Lincoln Center, and being a part of the house band for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. A musical prodigy, at age 14 she was featured as a soloist with the Boston Pops, performing an original composition she arranged for the orchestra, and at 16, she performed at Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration.

She's played more than a thousand shows as a bandleader, performing in 40 countries, at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center and Moscow Symphony Hall, and at the Montreal, Newport, and Montreux jazz festivals. Kelly has performed and recorded with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dave Brubeck, Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, Huey Lewis, Harry Connick Jr., Gloria Estefan, Questlove, Wynton Marsalis, and others. She won Song of the Year at the 2018 John Lennon Songwriting Contest; has several ASCAP Composer Awards, Boston Music Awards, and multiple DownBeat magazine awards to her credit; and has appeared as a featured performer in films and television.
