In November, Eva Ayllón, the Afro-Peruvian composer and singer, helped Berklee celebrate Latin Culture Month. As part of the Sovereign Bank Music Series, she performed with a 25-piece student and faculty group led by bass professor Oscar Stagnaro. Known for singing the landó, the festejo, and the vals—mestizo blends of Peruvian, African, and Spanish musical heritage—Ayllón has wowed audiences for more than three decades.
