Wet weather and a flooded fairground led to the cancelation of the Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival's outdoor concerts scheduled for later in the weekend, but nothing could put a damper on the festival's Friday evening lineup starring drummers and Berklee alumnae Cindy Blackman and Terri Lyne Carrington. Guitar Department faculty member David Gilmore joined Blackman for her hard-hitting jazz fusion set. Carrington, who teaches in the Percussion Department, featured celebrated jazz pianists Geri Allen and Patrice Rushen.
Bands from the student-run Jazz Revelation Records kicked things off at Cafe 939 on Thursday night.
