Japanese pianist/composer/microjammer Hidemi Akaiwa presents compositions and arrangements she wrote while studying with the great microjam master David Fiuczynski at Planet MicroJam Institute. She also will showcase epic experimental music that she worked on while studying at the Global Jazz Institute, the Jazz and Gender Justice Institute, and the Berklee Interdisciplinary Arts Institute.

Come and enjoy her creativity, which combines Japanese microtonal techniques with Western theoretical constructs, using synthesizers and acoustic instruments that utilize microtonal vocabularies.
