Family Orientation

In addition to student orientation events, Berklee offers an orientation for parents and families of incoming Berklee students. You'll have an opportunity to experience Berklee through the perspective of a student, to discover resources available to your student, and to learn how you can support your student through this transition. We look forward to welcoming our newest Berklee families to our community.

Fall 2021 Family Orientation will take place virtually in August prior to students' arrival to campus. Pending further guidance from the institution, we will update families on any scheduled events that may happen when students move in to campus. If we are able to have family events in person and on campus, we will let you know closer to August for those who wish to attend. All information about Berklee resources and services will be shared in advance virtually.

New Student and Family Programs communicates with incoming family members during the months before their student begins their studies. We will send our first correspondence to new fall 2021 families on July 1, 2021. If your student did not submit your family email address as part of their application to Berklee, we may not have your email address. We ask families to register their interest in participating in Family Orientation so that we have an accurate list of all incoming family members. You can use the interest form to sign up if you have not received information from our team.

New Student and Family Webinars

We hosted a three-part webinar series for new students and family members aimed at assisting with preparation for new student orientation and arrival to Boston. The webinar recordings are posted below.

Family Orientation Program

Our orientation program is virtual this fall. To support families, we offered 3 webinars and Zoom office hours in the weeks leading up to their student's arrival to Berklee. We also created a Berklee Family Resource Guide and have an orientation app, Cadence, for families to learn more about Berklee. More information is below.

Family Resource Guide

To start getting oriented, you can explore our resource guide—a comprehensive guide to learn about Berklee resources and services. We encourage you to use this guide as a tool to support your student’s transition to Berklee and to help remind them about the resources they can access throughout their Berklee experience. Students will also receive their own guide with information that is geared toward their experience at Berklee.

Cadence Orientation App

Families who downloaded the orientation app, Cadence, may view our full schedule and resources. There is also a section of the app called "Berklee Resources," where you can view videos, see resources, and get connected to offices' websites. While many of the resources and schedules on the app are geared towards students, we welcome and encourage you to have a conversation as a family about everything Berklee has to offer. The app is available in three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

In-Person Family Orientation Events

Listed below are in-person events that we are offering for our families who are traveling to Boston with their student. These events are optional. No new content will be delivered at these events, as they will serve as social opportunities to get to know other families. Locations and more information will listed below soon.
