Boston Conservatory at Berklee to Present Annual Fall Dance Concert From the Ground Up
Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s fall Center Stage performance season will continue with an annual tradition highlighting the school’s sophomore, junior, and senior dance majors. Fall Dance Concert: From the Ground Up will be presented in person at the Boston Conservatory Theater from Thursday, October 21 through Sunday, October 24. Performances held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23 will also be available to view via livestream.
From the Ground Up will showcase an eclectic program with five world premieres created by three guest artists who are in residence at Boston Conservatory and two faculty members. Featured guest artists include acclaimed choreographer and artistic director Robert Moses of Robert Moses’ Kin in San Francisco; dancer, choreographer, and 2020 Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Gabrielle Lamb; and visionary artistic director and choreographer T. Lang of T. Lang Dance in Atlanta. Conservatory dance professor Daniel Pelzig and associate professor Jim Viera will also premiere two new works at the concert.
“From the Ground Up is one of the Conservatory’s signature performances for our incredibly talented dance students,” said Tommy Neblett, dean of dance for Boston Conservatory at Berklee. “This fall’s concert, the first in-person iteration of From the Ground Up in almost two years, will showcase memorable world premieres from some of the greatest artists in the dance community, in addition to those from our world class faculty. It will be an amazing experience to witness on the stage.”
Fall Dance Concert: From the Ground Up will take place at the Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 8:00 p.m. from Thursday, October 21 through Sunday, October 24. Tickets for From the Ground Up are $20 for regular seating; $10 to $15 for senior citizens, Conservatory alumni, WGBH members; and $5 to $10 for non-Berklee students.
Berklee Live Event Attendance Policy
Any member of the public attending a live, ticketed event at Berklee will be required to provide a government-issued photo identification; and one of the following: proof of full vaccination (two weeks after the second of a two-shot vaccine, or the first of a one-shot vaccine); or proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the event, or a rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours of the event. Attendees may provide these documents in physical/paper form, by photocopy, or a photo on a phone, as long as all information is clearly visible and readable. Photos of at-home tests must be time-stamped.
Masks will be required indoors, regardless of vaccination or negative test status. Attendees must bring their own masks, and wear them over the nose and mouth. Read more about Berklee’s health and safety protocols for public performances.
