Saxophonist and Berklee Global Jazz Managing Director Marco Pignataro presents music from his latest three recording projects, commissioned during the COVID-19 pandemic, “Passione-Canto Italiano,” “Dream Alliance’s Awakening,” and “Tällberg Jazz for the Planet.” The concert also will feature music from his 2018 Zoho Records album, Almas Antiguas.
Pignataro also will discuss the following topics: saxophone as a lyrical voice in thematic improvisation; finding one's sound across different horns; developing a personal approach and repertoire through one's roots and culture; fostering connections outside of the music scene; and jazz as advocacy for social issues.
