Born in Havana, Cuba, Sheila del Bosque Fuentes is a flutist, composer, and conductor who has played recorder, flute, and traverse baroque flute in major theaters and festivals throughout Cuba, South Korea, Mexico, Germany, and the U.S. Awarded a full-tuition scholarship, del Bosque enrolled at Berklee in 2018 and is currently studying a dual major in performance and film scoring with a minor in orchestral conducting. While a student at the college, she’s shared the stage with accomplished musicians such as Paquito d’Rivera, Omar Hakim, Danilo Pérez, Berta Rojas, and Aida Cuevas.

Sheila del Bosque Quartet represented Berklee at the opening of the 49th annual Next Generation Jazz Festival in Monterey, California. She recently recorded her original song, “Si mi Isla fuese Niño,” and a Two-Track video concert for Berklee’s YouTube channel. Her music features contemporary and traditional Afro-Cuban styles, mixed with the influence of European and jazz ingredients.
