At the beginning of 2020, Margaret Glaspy was rehearsing a band to back her on a world tour in support of Devotion, the highly anticipated follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut full-length, Emotions & Math. Like the rest of the music industry, particularly those dependent on live music, COVID-19 changed all of her plans.

Many musicians have relied on social media as a way to stay engaged, and Glaspy was no exception. She's been using YouTube as a way to connect with fans in as intimate of a way as she could, given quarantine. One of those series is Devotion Inspiration, and it finds Glaspy doing stripped-down, acoustic covers of some of the many songs that inspired and influenced her during the making of her newest record, from paying homage to the late Bill Withers to her fellow Berklee alumna, Adrianne Lenker B.M. ’12 (Big Thief). Lenker, who recently released two new solo records, will be a featured guest on November 20 as part of the Career Center's fall 2020 Visiting Artist Series, and will be answering questions from students.
