Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.
My favorite experience with Berklee so far has been the one I had two years ago. I got to play in the Dominican Republic, performing and teaching at the jazz festival.
When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?
I enjoyed being immersed in topics that I have been researching for years. I liked the idea of organization of material, weekly homework, and constant feedback from the teacher so I could develop a critical sense of topics, not just assembling material to practice.
What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?
I love Boston because it is a city where I can make space for myself. Even though it is hard to get free time with Berklee, I like to walk and bike around, especially in summertime.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?
I would say, believe in yourself and trust the process of learning because Berklee is the best school in the world for how it is constructed.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
150 lobby
Why did you choose Berklee?
Because I wanted to learn more about things that are almost impossible to find in other schools.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I would love to start teaching and tour around the world with my band. Meanwhile, I plan to compose for the media as a side job.
What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?
I enjoyed the organization and the attention to details.
Where do you hope to perform this coming year?
The Berklee Performance Center with one of my projects.
