Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.

Traveling to New Orleans for the Jazz Education Network (JEN) with the Advanced Vocal Jazz Ensemble was such an incredible experience to bond, network, and perform. Having the opportunity to travel and represent Berklee was by far my favorite Berklee experience.

When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?

Business Leadership and Ethics was by far my favorite class. The professor I had was so knowledgeable and welcoming, and on top of that, the class itself was the most informative I have taken at the college. Many classes I have taken provide you with music industry–specific knowledge, but this class specifically provided me knowledge and skills that I can take anywhere I go.

What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?

Coming from a small town, I love living in the city! There is always something to do, and you can walk just about anywhere. Some people worry that living in a city you lose that campus vibe, but we truly are a community.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?

If I could give anyone one piece of advice, it would be to ask someone from your class to grab a coffee. Put yourself out there! You never know what connection you will have for life.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

I love the outdoor seating area in front of 7 Haviland. It's tucked away from the madness of Massachusetts Avenue, and it's the best place to catch up with friends, have a coffee, or even just relax before a class.

Why did you choose Berklee?

Aside from the incredible campus and faculty, Berklee offered me what no other school did. I wanted to be able to learn about the music business industry while being fully immersed in it. Berklee offers so many opportunities to work with artists, managers, songwriters, etc. The clubs and hand-on experience are unlike any other.

What are your plans for after graduation?

I plan on attending law school in the U.S. and hopefully will get into entertainment law, but before I tackle that I'm looking to gain some more working experience in the industry.

What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?

I love that I have had the opportunity to perform in various places around Berklee, but also attend so many shows. I have performed at David Friend Recital Hall, Berk Recital Hall, and the Berklee Performance Center (BPC). Berklee's performance venues are always an exciting place to be, and there is never a bad live performance!

Where do you hope to perform this coming year?

I would love another opportunity to perform on the BPC stage again! This past year I was in two shows that premiered on Berklee's YouTube channel that would have been in the BPC, so I'd love one last chance to perform there before I graduate.
